India takes on England in the second series at home this summer. The tour begins with a seven match one-day series and then there is a week’s break to allow for the Champions League T20 before the two test matches at Ahmedabad and Mumbai.
The first ODI is to be played at Rajkot. The wicket is true and will have good bounce and carry for both India and England. This series is being billed as Indian batsmen vs English bowlers but it is very important to remember that the Indian bowlers and English batsmen are equally capable. It could be as much a fight between them as the former.
Both teams carry good form into the series as India beat Australia and England beat South Africa at home. But who comes out on top will very well be decided by which leader shows the more guts on the field. Kevin Pieterson and MS Dhoni are pitted against each other in a battle of wits, especially, with the new rules of the powerplay and it will be very interesting to watch who comes out on top.
