Klusener’s brilliant innings bailed out World team of a precarious 39-3 to a challenging total of 167-6 after they were put in to bat by ICL Banglsdesh skipper Habibul Bashar. In reply, Bangladeshis could manage to 155 for 9 in their alloted 20 overs, even though they got off to a flying start. Openers Nazimuddin and Shahriar Nafees started of with the intention of chasing down the challenging target with the former hitting sixes off the third over from Gillespie to race of to 20 runs off only 10 balls. However, too many shots brought his promising innings to an end off Andre Adams’ bowling, ending the 28-run partnership for the first wicket.

But Aftab Ahmed got into the rhythm right away, playing some brilliant shots all across the ground to power the score to 75 at the seven-over mark, but not before surviving a difficult dropped chance and missed stumping. He finally got foxed by the Nicky Boje to be stumped by Nixon for a well made 29 off 17 balls studded with two fours and two sixes. Harris then brought on Klusener in the 10th over, who struck immediately with the big wicket of Alok Kapali, cheaply for 1 to bring back ICL World back into the game.
