After bundling England for 302 runs, India extended their 151-run lead in the second innings and were 9/0 at lunch on Day 4 of the Mohali Test.
Resuming the day with the overnight score of 282/6, England finished their innings on Monday adding just 20 runs at the loss of their remaining four wickets. Harbhajan Singh hurried England’s fall with a four-wicket haul. Harbhajan in the third over removed Prior who tried to glance a delivery toward the leg but the ball spun sharply to take a faint edge to land in the gloves of wicketkeeper MS Dhoni. In his successive over, Bhajji foxed Broad with his ‘doosra’ and knocked his stump. Zaheer deceived the England tailender and crashed into the stumps. Last batsman Monty Panesar perished when he was caught by Gambhir at short leg for 5 runs. Panesar poked a Bhajji-delivery that took an inside edge, hit his pads and flew to Gambhir.
Dense fog at the PCA Stadium delayed the start by two hours. The first session was of one hour and lunch.
