Young India pacer Ishant Sharma has credited his recent exploits with the red cherry to his senior pace colleague Zaheer Khan.
Ishant said it was Zaheer who helped him immensely during the last year which which saw him torment top batsmen around the world with both new and old balls.
“No one expected us to bowl that well. Zaheer taught me how to maintain the ball, how to use myself and shared all his experience with me. That is why we could get the bowl to reverse swing,” Ishant said.
“Now we are looking to harness the partnership. If he is taking wickets from one end, then I will ensure that I am not getting desperate and giving away easy runs,” he added. Ishant also praised his Delhi captain Virender Sehwag for helping him in his success.
“Viru Bhaiya knows a lot about my bowling. I played my second season for Delhi under his captaincy. During that he learnt that I can bowl longish spells. It was this knowledge with which Sehwag suggested Anil Kumble during the Perth Test that I can be given another over in which I got Ricky Ponting out. In fact Sehwag is the man who knows how to get me out of the shell.
