India vs Sri Lanka, 3rd ODI: India win series 3-0

India beat Sri Lanka in the third ODI by 147 runs at Colombo and take an unassailable 3-0 lead to win the series. They have already won the first two ODIs and are now on an eight match unbeaten run.

Spinner Pragyan Ojha took four wickets as Sri Lanka couldn’t do much in reply to India’s mammoth score of 364-run target. For India, Zaheer Khan led the bowling attack and the batting side only chance lay with big knocks from their openers Sanath Jayasuriya and Tilakratne Dilshan but the Indian pace duo of Zaheer and Praveen bowled Jayasuriya for a duck and Dilshan for mere 30 runs to shatter Lankan hopes.

The Indian spin attack left the hosts depleted as Ojha bagged his third wicket of the day to end Sangakkara’s 83 run innings. With this wicket, India had already set themselves in a commanding position as Sehwag and Yuvraj followed their tons with wickets.

Earlier, with centuries from Sehwag (116) and Yuvraj (117), India finished their innings on 363 at the loss of five wickets. With boundaries all over the ground and some superb shots, Yuvraj (117) raised his 11th century of his career while Sehwag followed the momentum and blasted 75-ball hundred.This happened after Sachin Tendulkar was once again out to a dubious LBW decision, 3rd time in a row and Gautam Gambhir was run out early.

There are two more matches left in the series, one day-night game and the other a day game followed by a T20 match.
