IPL: Deccan Chargers v Kolkata Knight Riders Preview

Hyderabad Deccan Chargers and Kolkata Knight Riders will go head to head in the 4th match of the IPL on Sunday.

Deccan Chargers had a horrible first season and finished eighth in the league table winning only two matches. But this time they have made many changes in the off season and they might just bring them some change in luck, as also their jersey colours. Adam Gilchrist is now captain and along with coach Darren Lehmann will have new ideas and an attacking approach to the game than VVS Laxman. They wont have Shahid Afridi but much of the same players will play for them as last year and that should give them confidence and a hope for a new start as they cannot finish last again this season.

Kolkata will have their own share of problems especially after Sourav Ganguly was removed as captain and then Brendon McCullum took over. It will be interesting to see how Ganguly reacts with the bat to this because many would expect him to come out fighting. They have lost good bowlers in Umar Gul and Shoaib Akhtar but Mashrafe Mortaza will try and make up for that loss. They will look at Chris Gayle and McCullum to give them a fresh start as they did last year with a bang in the first match.
