The first match of the day is between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Dare Devils. The match will be played at Durban.
Chennai Super Kings have played two matches already and they have won one and lost one. They have two points but more importantly they have tried out different team compositions and played full length matches which will hold them in good stead. Mathew Hayden has got runs for them and they now need the rest of the players to chip in as well especially Andrew Flintoff who has only a few more matches to play. Muralitharan playing will be the key as he bowled well in the last match against Bangalore and the pitches are helping spin. It will be interesting to see how their bowling fares against Delhi.
Delhi Dare Devils have only played one match and though they won that one it was partly down to rain. Even then they have been considered one of the pre-tournament favourites and so they cannot be taken lightly. The bowling looked good but they would do well to try and include Glenn McGrath in the side as well. Daniel Vettori will again be their main bowler and it will be Vettori vs Murali today. Also their attacking line up of Sehwag and Gambhir will be their main weapon and it will be important to get a good start for them because then facing the spinners might become a challenge.
The match starts at 4 pm IST.
