IPL Semi-Final 1: Delhi Dare Devils v Deccan Chargers Preview

Delhi Dare Devils will take on Deccan Chargers in the first semi final on Friday at Super Sport Park in Centurion.

Delhi finished top of the table with 20 points from their 14 games and were considered to be the favourites all along. They will be hoping to carry this form into the semi final with them as well as the tag of favourites. Their batting has been really strong all this while with AB de Villiers and Tilakratne Dilshan in the form of their life. And now their openers are coming to form as well with Gambhir, Sehwag and Warner all getting runs this time. Their bowling has looked the part as well with Dirk Nannes and Ashish Nehra in fine wicket taking form. Their only problem could be losing early wickets and then their middle order being tested but they should do just fine.

Deccan Chargers were in hot form when the tournament started and then they lost a few games and just about qualified for the semis with 14 points from 14 games. For them their bowling has been very good but they are missing Fidel Edwards although RP Singh has been excellent for them. But they rely heavily on their batting and their batsmen are the key to their fortunes. Adam Gilchrist, Herschelle Gibbs, Andrew Symonds and Rohit Sharma will have to collectively fire in the last two games if they are to win the trophy, whether batting first or second. If they are out for a low score, their game is pretty much over.
