IPL Semifinal 2: Bangalore Royal Challengers v Chennai Super Kings Preview

buy books online

The Bangalore Royal Challengers will take on the Chennai Super Kings in the second semifinal of the Indian Premier League at Johannesburg on Saturday.

Chennai Super Kings finished 2nd in the league table with 17 points from 14 games and were the second best team in the tournament throughout. For them their batting holds the key as Mathew Hayden is in fine form leading the pack for the Orange Cap while Suresh Raina is in hot pursuit as well. Other batsmen have continued to chip in with good scores throughout and they have put up and chased some decent scores over the tournament. But their bowling has been in and out of form and questionable at times and is their only weak link.

Bangalore Royal Challengers had a slow start to the tournament and then after Kevin Pietersen left, Anil Kumble’s captaincy did so much good to them as they never really looked like second best from then on. They were always willing to fight with the bat or the ball and the whole team has chipped in with performances, rather than a few individuals. They rely on all round skill rather than any one quality and that is their biggest strength.

The match begins at 8 pm IST.
