Mumbai confired as 2011 World Cup Final venue

Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium will host the 2011 World Cup final while seven other venues in India will be used for the event, which is being jointly hosted with Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

The Indian cricket board (BCCI) revealed in a statement that Mohali, Ahmedabad, New Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Nagpur and Kolkata would be the other venues with Mohali hosting a semi-final as well as two other matches, Ahmedabad hosting a quarter-final and two other matches while the fully refurbished Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai would also host two matches in addition to the final.

New Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Nagpur and Kolkata will each have four matches during the tournament, the full schedule for which will be revealed on 14th November.

Sri Lanka is to host the other semi-final and one quarter-final with Bangladesh hosting the other two quarter-finals.

Group A: Australia, Pakistan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Canada, Kenya

Group B: India, South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Ireland, Netherlands
