Bangladesh began their warm-up programme for the ICC World Twenty20 with a 36-run win over Barbados in Bridgetown.
Batting first, Bangladesh posted 166 for five before Barbados were held to 130 for three in reply. Opener Imrul Kayes led the way for Bangladesh, thumping 57 in 59 balls and sharing an opening stand of 77 with Mohammad Ashraful (35). Aftab Ahmed made a swift 26 and Mushfiqur Rahim an unbeaten 14 to propel the Tigers to a winning score despite medium pacer Martin Nurse taking three for 21.
Ryan Hinds then constructed an innings of 50 not out in 48 but the Barbados fell short despite Jonathan Carter smashing an unbeaten 45 in 30 balls. Mashrafe Mortaza, Abdur Razzak and Rubel Hossain picked up a wicket apiece.
