The Supreme Court on Friday issued a notice to BCCI secretary and IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings co-owner N Srinivasan on the issue of ‘conflict of interest’.
The Supreme Court issued a notice on petition filed by former BCCI president AC Muthaiah challenging BCCI members from owning IPL teams. Muthaiah had raised issue of conflict of interest after financial irregularities were seen in the accounts of the Twenty20 tournament.
Muthaiah in his petition stated that no administration of BCCI should have direct of indirect commercial interest in the IPL. Muthaiah said that an independent probe over the financial irregularities of the IPL should be conducted. He also challenged BCCI’s permission to grant secretary N Srinivasan to own Chennai Super Kings — an IPL team.
