The goods news for Indian cricket fans is that the BCCI confirmed the Indian tour of Sri Lanka for 5 ODIs and a T20 match end of January/beginning of February to offset the prospective losses faced due to the cancellation of the India-Pakistan series.

The only regret for most Indian fans is that there is only 1 T20 match whereas another 1 or 2 T20 matches could have been easily incorporated to make the series more interesting.

Although the series begins at a short notice, it is a highly anticipated one. India have been on the top of things recently and by beating their neighbours, they would like to continue their good form. On the other hand, Sri Lanka will be playing India immediately after their series in Bangladesh. This tour is a start of a hectic schedule for the Indians who will follow this series with a series against New Zealand later next month.
